Washington, D.C.--Good Energy Collective is proud to welcome Dr. Matt Bowen as a Senior Fellow in its newly launched Senior Fellows Program. Matt is a nationally recognized expert on nuclear energy, waste, and nonproliferation, bringing extensive experience to his new role, which began July 1.
As a Senior Fellow, Matt will work closely with Good Energy Collective’s research and policy teams to advance reforms in key areas of energy policy. Matt will focus on issues related to permitting reform, power market design, and innovation policy, as well as shaping strategies to promote evidence-based policy solutions.
Matt is a Senior Research Scholar at Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy, where he leads research on U.S. fuel cycle policy, the role of nuclear energy in the clean energy transition, and federal support for innovation. His career history includes roles at the National Academies, two Offices in the U.S. Senate, and the Offices of Nonproliferation and Arms Control and Nuclear Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy.

His support will help GEC expand our competencies and our reach as we tackle the next set of challenges for responsible deployment of nuclear energy.”
Matt holds a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Washington, Seattle, and a B.S. in physics from Brown University.
