Lizette Vernon has dedicated her career to designing as a public service at scientific institutions. In 2010, she joined the Public Affairs team at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee, FL. In 2014 she moved to New York City, where she currently resides. She briefly worked for the Child Mind Institute (a children's mental health nonprofit) before joining the Education department at the American Museum of Natural History where she has enjoyed creating Websites, interactives, and online educational content for past six years.
In 2017 she was a participant in CivicXcel, a civic tech incubator program that helps startups create viable proofs-of-concept using human-centered design processes.
A native of Miami, Florida, Lizette holds a Bachelors degree in Visual Art from Florida State University. She enjoys drawing, cooking, and visiting museums around the world.
